Hello, I am Officer Devin Wright of the Olney Police Department. Thank you for visiting my page.

I was recruited by Chief Dan Birbeck of the Olney Police Department in 2023 to serve as your School Resource Officer. Before that time, I served the citizens of Young County for nearly 20 years. Most of my career has been related to patrol focusing on drug enforcement through specialized units such as “K9”.  Through that time, I was given the opportunity to work many specialized units and earn many specialized certifications.

When I accepted the position of the School Resource Officer I immersed myself in training regarding school safety. I am certified through Texas Association of School Resource Officers, Texas State School Safety Center and hold an advanced certification through the National Association of School Resource Officers as a School Resource Officer.

Behind all this I am just like you, a husband, father and an Opa to my grandkids. I care dearly for our students and staff. I will strive to support and promote healthy relationships to ensure a safe learning and teaching environment acting as a resource to students, staff members, and the community to provide guidance in law enforcement matters.
